GOING TO CAMP AS A SOLO CAMPER

So, you’ve heard the summer camp stories, you’ve watched the Instagram stories and you’re getting ready to create your own Camp No Counselors story.

This blog is for the adventure seeking solo camper looking to come to camp for the first time.

Each Camp No Counselors event we host brings solo campers from all across the country looking to experience the summer camp lifestyle that CNC offers.

So read on and hopefully we can convince you to dive into it head first.

So You’re Flying Solo…

First of all, we’re going to rock it with you. From the moment you turn up, we’ve got your back & your beer.

We’ve also got your new group of camp friends waiting by the campfire for you to meet. A word of advice...you should clear your post camp calendar now. Once camp ends you’re going to be invited to a bunch of camper reunions after the weekend.

Nervous?

Don’t be! This weekend is all about you having fun. It’s your time to simply just forget the outside world and enjoy yourself.

If work has been a little crazy recently or you’re sick of running the same routine and need some inspiration, we’re here to get you back on track.

Make The Right Type of Connection

CNC is about building meaningful connections.

When is the last time you walked down the street looking into your phone, the world, humans, dogs, even life passing you by?

I side-step so that people on their phones don’t crash into me...DAILY.

How many times have you swiped right on people for no reason, with no real desire to go on a date, or scrolled down Instagram for hours on end? What type of connection are you really getting?

We disconnect to reconnect with each other.

You, Do, You.

Be unique... be yourself! You don’t need to hide yourself at camp. Pretty much anything goes, wear that wacky hair and get props in the Dining Hall for your rainbow unicorn cat onesie.

Camp is where our interactions come to life. There are no social divides so you are free to go wherever the wind or activity map takes you. Picture yourself signing up to Dodgeball with the guy/girl you sat down beside at campfire last night. You’re laughing your way through the hour and saddened when the whistle blows sending you to your next activity. When you arrive you see someone with the same answer on their name tag - your childhood hero - Spiderman...Obviously! Friends for life in an instant.

You’re Not Alone

Even though you’re coming to camp by yourself you’re surrounding yourself with other like-minded people. Like minded people create incredible memories together.

Camp is your opportunity to create these memories. Let loose, talk, share a drink with someone… just because! Camp is your space yet camp is for everyone.

Onesies Onesies Onesies!

Over the years onesies have taken over CNC events. Picture yourself rolling out of bed in the morning, stepping into/already wearing your onesie to breakfast. It’s like an unwritten rule but I’m currently writing it so.. bring one!
