5 Signs You Need a Weekend at Adult Summer Camp

You’re languishing

Since the pandemic we’ve seen a lot of people just ‘languishing’. That feeling that you’re not failing, but you’re not flourishing. You’re struggling with motivation and have a feeling of emptiness. Concentration levels are low and you are easily distracted. If you’re lying in bed for extra time in the morning playing Wordle, skipping sensible meals and avoiding working at full-capacity then it’s time to find a way to kickstart the reset button and get back to flourishing. A weekend away from the daily struggles in a positive environment like summer camp is going to do you the world of good!

Too much time spent on devices

Stop doom scrolling. This is where you waste hours a day aimlessly scrolling on TikTok, IG, Twitter & Facebook. Reel after reel, story after story. Watching people chase likes by posting generic nonsense. If this is you, stop doom scrolling. < Read that again.

At Camp No Counselors we encourage you to disconnect from phones for the weekend and just enjoy the people and place around you.

Remote working

Remote working is great for a lot of reasons, more time with your family, less time commuting, it’s cost effective and can be a great working environment. In so many ways, we’re all for it!

However…

Zoom calls, Teams, Slack, Hangout, Facetime, Skype… (okay who is still using Skype?!) get tiring and we’ve seen enough meme’s about working from home to make us want to get back to the office.

We’re wired to make connections, face to face. Real connections. If you’re starting to feel like Peter Bretter at the start of Forgetting Sarah Marshall then it’s time to escape to adult summer camp.

And if you haven’t seen Forgetting Sarah Marshall then it’s time to watch that too!

Nature Calls

No we don’t mean needing a pee. We mean, when was the last time you went into the great outdoors and did something really cool? Like hike a mountain or swim in a lake? When was the last time you had a conversation by a campfire?

Get off the sofa, get out the sweatpants and sign up for an adventure!

Uninspiring Routines

Wake up, go to work, finish work, log into Netflix, scroll meaninglessly, pick-up your phone, scroll meaninglessly, take-out rather than cook, skipped gym sessions… whatever it may be, it’s never too late to make a change. Have you got a night or two each week where you sign up for a class? Join a sports league or see friends?

If you’re looking to meet new people, try new things, disconnect, reconnect and escape to a happy place then pick up your phone and instead of scrolling, call us.
