 5. Adams Family Values

Christina Ricci steals the show as the ice cold Wednesday Addams, making life miserable for two camp counselors who want her to fit in with other kids. This is why we don't have counselors at CNC. In Non-Counselor Dave's opinion, this is one of the rare sequels that is better than the original movie.

4. The Parent Trap

Long before she became a Mean Girl, Lindsay Lohan starred in this beloved camp adventure. When two girls meet through summer camp, their two lives are rattled when they realize that they are identical twins. They make a plan to switch places when they go home, so they can reunite their family. Who would you switch places with after camp ended? And whatever happened to the actress who played Lindsay Lohan's twin sister??

3. Heavyweights

Years before he made The 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, and other classic Rated R comedies, Judd Apatow made this kid's camp movie classic. Ben Stiller steals the show as the ridiculously evil fitness instructor at the weight loss camp this film is set. And, it stars both Mighty Ducks goalies: Goldberg "the Goalie", and Keenan "Knucklepuck" Thompson.

2. Meatballs

The prototype when it comes to movies set at camp, Meatballs is the camp comedy that invented the genre. Starring Bill Murray as awesomely bad counselor Tripper Harrison. Harrison’s desire to have fun and act young has inspired smart-asses, slackers, and party animals for almost 35 years.

1. Wet Hot American Summer

A legendary cast anchors this beloved comedy including Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, and so many more. This movie has amazingly captured so many true-to-life camp experiences, and made them hilarious for the big screen. From awkward crushes, to lustful hook-ups, all the way through to hilarious talent shows, raging counselors' trips to town and more- all on the last day of camp of the summer of 1981. Fun fact: the first ever CNC party theme was Wet Hot American Summer! Should we bring it back?

That's our picks for Top 5 Camp Movie Classics! Honorable mention goes to: Camp Nowhere, the farfetched story of a group of campers who start their own camp, Indian Summer, the even more farfetched story of adults who go back to camp. Fun fact: Indian Summer was filmed at Head Camper Adam's childhood summer camp!
